Document Capture and Document Scanning 

Document capture and document scanning is the process of converting a paper document into an electronic image. With DocuVision Imaging Suite a paper document can be captured by scanning a document and information recorded against the newly created electronic document image for later retrieval.

 DocuVision Imaging Suite allows for information to be captured from a document during scanning, via barcodes and patch codes, post image processing with Optical Character Recognition (OCR) for printed text recognition, Intelligent Character Recognition (ICR) for handwriting recognition and Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) for checkboxes recognition or via keyboard input through a sophisticated key from image interface. Organise, Retrieve and Manage

Once document scanning is complete and an image is captured, it needs to be organised into an easily searchable filing system, DocuVision Retrieval Server is just that an electronic document and records management system (EDRMS). Not only does it have an automatic interface to import images and data captured from DocuVision Imaging Suite, but it also has other mechanisms to collect documents and records. Its web based interface allows for easy access from any supported browser as well as the ability to upload electronic documents via the browser.

DocuVision Retrieval Server also allows for uploads via a defined Web Service that can be utilised from anywhere in the world with access to the DocuVision Retrieval Server via the internet or intranet. With electronic documents entering the system in various ways, users can start to retrieve these through various search methods. With an electronic filing system like this a single document can be accessed at the same time by user, documents can be emailed and faxed from a users desktop and notes can be appended to documents if required.
